Jersey Post & Go marks 10 years of Holidays for Heroes Jersey

The second overprint to appear on a Jersey Post & Go JE02 stamp in 2018 will mark the 10th anniversary of Holidays for Heroes Jersey, Jersey Post has revealed.
The charity, set up by Jersey residents, Dawn Woodhouse MBE and Richard Woodhouse on 28 August 2008 aims to provide a week’s holiday in Jersey to any past or present member of HM Forces with injuries, whether in mind or body, attributable to their service.

Melanie Gouzinis, Head of Philatelic at Jersey Post explains: “The overprint, which will appear on the Jersey Crest stamps, will feature the words ‘Holidays for Heroes – 10 Years’ together with the silhouette of a soldier in keeping with the H4HJ logo. Since Dawn and Richard founded the charity 10 years ago, they have provided over 2600 holidays, giving invaluable respite for individuals together with their families. The overprinted stamps will be available from 1 August to 31 August 2018.”

Jersey Post’s most recent Post & Go issue, Visiting Naval Vessels, will continue to vend from the JE02 kiosk but will not carry the commemorative overprint.

Jersey Post’s JE02 series Post & Go kiosk, powered by Royal Mail, is located in Jersey Post’s Broad Street post office in St Helier. A limited number of Collectors’ strips featuring the Holidays for Heroes Jersey anniversary overprint will be available to order at www.jerseystamps.com or by contacting the Jersey Philatelic Bureau on: 00 44 (0)1534 616717.
