Jersey Post – Spring Schedule

Jersey Post announces a schedule of events for spring

A new issue, exhibition overprints and third kiosk herald a busy time for Jersey Post & Go this February.

New Post & Go Design

The new Post & Go design, Durrell: Saving Primates, will be launched by Jersey Post on 13 February 2019 at Spring Stampex in London. The stamps will be available to vend from Jersey Post’s JE01 kiosk, alongside Jersey Flag stamps printed with a special exhibition overprint.

“Many Durrell species have previously featured on Jersey stamps but on this occasion, the focus is on primates,”explains Jersey Post’s Melanie Gouzinis. “Six of them feature in this new issue, illustrated by wildlife artist Andrew Beckett to give an outstanding realistic representation,” she continued. “Gerald Durrell founded his Wildlife Conservation Trust in 1959 using expert knowledge during the last 60 years to save and protect threatened species and safeguard the natural world.”

As well as being available from Jersey Post’s JE01 Post & Go kiosk during the exhibition, the new issue will also be available from the JE02 kiosk at Jersey’s main Broad Street post office in St Helier. The 2018 issue Nautical Knots will also vend once again from JE02 from 13 February, for a limited time.

Stampex Overprint

Jersey Flag stamps featuring a special exhibition overprint will also vend from the JE01 kiosk during Spring Stampex. The overprint reads Spring Stampex 2019, accompanied by an illustration of spring flowers. For those unable to attend the exhibition, back office collectors’ strips will be available from Jersey’s B002 kiosk via the Jersey Philatelic Bureau.

JE03 Kiosk

Jersey Post’s new counter-top unit JE03 will make its first Stampex appearance in February. It will be situated on Stand 78 and will vend Nautical Knots together with the same Spring Stampex 2019 overprint and flower image that will appear on the flag. Again, those unable to attend the exhibition will be able to order back office collectors’ strips through the bureau.

After Stampex, JE03 will be reinstalled in Jersey, vending the new Durrell: Saving Primates stamp issue with the location identifier ‘Jersey Post HQ’. A limited number of collectors’ strips will be available through the Bureau.

This year, Spring Stampex will take place from 13-16 February at the Business Design Centre in London. B002 overprints and philatelic stamp products such as First Day Covers and Presentation Packs are available to pre-order at www.jerseystamps.com or by contacting the Jersey Philatelic Bureau on: 00 44 (0)1534 616320. New issue Post & Go stamps and overprints from Jersey Post’s B002 kiosk, as well as strips obtained from JE02 and JE03, are now available as subscription items through the Jersey Philatelic Bureau.
